Decking Built to Last

We’ve built a great reputation in Liverpool and the surrounding areas for building decks to suit any home or business, large or small.

Every deck is built with a slight fall so rainwater runs off away from your home, not against the walls.

Any Shape or Size

Not every garden suits a square deck. We build decks with angles and curves, low-level or raised, and can add sleeper planters so you can grow your favourite flowers.

Decking Installers in Liverpool

A good deck starts with good groundwork. We prepare and level the base, set out the frame with a slight fall away from the house, and use treated timber and outdoor-rated fixings so your deck stays solid for years. We build decks for homes, gardens and businesses across Liverpool and Merseyside, including Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and the Wirral.

Our decking services

  • New decking – timber and composite decks built to your design and budget
  • Any shape or size – designed around your garden and how you want to use it
  • Deck repairs – replacing rotten boards, joists and loose balustrades
  • Sleepers and edging – raised beds, steps and borders to finish the garden
  • Treating and maintenance – protecting existing timber decks from the weather

How it works

We visit, measure up and draw out a plan with costings, so you can see the layout and price before any work starts. Once you’re happy, we agree a start date and keep the site tidy until the job is finished.

Timber or composite decking?

Treated softwood timber is the most affordable choice and gives a natural look, but it needs cleaning and re-treating every year or two to stay in good condition. Composite decking costs more to begin with but needs very little upkeep: no staining or sealing, and it won’t splinter or rot. We’ll talk you through both so you can choose what suits your garden, budget and how much maintenance you want to do.

Raised decks, steps and balustrades

If your garden slopes or sits below the back door, a raised deck can create a level outdoor space that’s easy to use. We add steps, handrails and balustrades, including glass panels, so the finished deck is safe as well as good-looking, and we can build in sleeper planters or seating areas as part of the design.

Do I need planning permission for decking?

In most cases, no. Decking at a house in England is usually allowed without planning permission as long as it’s no more than 30cm above the ground and, together with any other extensions and outbuildings, doesn’t cover more than half the garden. Raised decks above 30cm, decking at flats or listed buildings, and properties in conservation areas can have different rules, so if your design is likely to need permission we’ll let you know at the planning stage so you can check with your local council.

Looking after your deck

A well-built deck should last for many years with basic care. Keep it clear of leaves, give it a wash at least once a year, and re-treat timber decks when water stops beading on the surface. If boards have already started to rot or the frame has moved, we can repair or replace the damaged sections rather than the whole deck.
